## Introducing the Infrastructure for Programmable IP

Dominium is purpose-built infrastructure that makes intellectual property programmable, liquid, and AI-ready. By combining blockchain technology with Trusted Execution Environments (TEE), Dominium enables IP owners to license their assets automatically while maintaining complete control and privacy.

Register your IP on-chain, define licensing terms programmatically, and let the protocol handle enforcement—no intermediaries, no lengthy negotiations, no 15% G\&A overhead.

IP on Dominium can be anything: images, music, characters, trademarks, datasets, or any creative asset that deserves protection and monetization.

> **The Problem We Solve**: Today, 50-90% of corporate IP sits dormant as "dark IP"—never commercialized due to the complexity of traditional licensing. Meanwhile, AI companies are training on copyrighted content without proper attribution or compensation. Dominium fixes both.

## Quick FAQs

**What makes Dominium different from other IP protocols?**

Dominium combines three innovations:

1. **TEE-secured AI training** without exposing underlying assets
2. **Restaking-based economic security** that aligns ecosystem incentives
3. **Multi-signature validation** with major IP offices (USPTO, EUIPO)

**What blockchain does Dominium use?**

Dominium is built on Cosmos with EVM compatibility, leveraging Phala Network for TEE infrastructure and Zama for Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE).

**Who validates IP registrations?**

A multi-signature system involving validated connections to USPTO and EUIPO ensures only legitimate IP enters the marketplace.

**How do creators get paid?**

Royalties flow automatically via EIP-2612 permit signatures. When someone licenses your IP, payment terms are enforced programmatically—no invoicing, no chasing payments.

## Architecture (one minute)

Dominium is a five-part stack that turns IP terms into enforced workflows.

* **User layer**: Web app, wallets, and integrations
* **Service layer**: Licensing, staking, and AI generation orchestration
* **Blockchain layer**: Contracts for asset/license minting and royalties
* **Privacy layer**: TEE enclaves for private compute on licensed IP
* **Storage layer**: Encrypted IPFS storage with integrity proofs

For the diagram and a deeper component breakdown, see [Platform](/docs/learn/platform.md).

## The Dominium Difference

### For IP Owners

Turn dormant IP into revenue streams. Set your terms once, and the protocol enforces them forever. Get paid automatically when your IP is used—whether by humans or AI.

### For AI Developers

Access high-quality, legally-licensed training data. Train models in TEE environments that respect IP rights while delivering the data diversity you need.

### For Enterprises

Slash IP licensing G\&A costs from 15% to near-zero. Automate the entire workflow from discovery to payment, with full audit trails for compliance.

## Use cases

Common scenarios Dominium is built for:

* Character licensing with on-chain terms and automatic royalties
* Dataset licensing for AI training inside TEE enclaves
* Monetizing large “dark IP” portfolios without bespoke negotiations

See [Use cases](/docs/overview/use-cases.md) for concrete walkthroughs.
